Sweets

You shouldn’t say “no” to your child when they ask you to buy him, or her, some candy or sweets. Did you have all the chocolate you wanted? Or did you always wish for more? Either way, it is, our little boys and girls will just keep being little boys and girls and insist on having it their way, so indulge them. Don’t worry, you can keep your kid’s snacks as healthy as they can be, and I bet you didn’t know that some of them are actually important for your child’s health as well.

You are probably unaware how much dark chocolate is healthy and good for your health. It is full of antioxidants, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and believe it or not it is very important for ours and our children’s cognitive functions. There are various studies that actually confirm that it improves our verbal efficiency, and reduces blood pressure. So don’t avoid chocolate, just find a healthy, dark one with a high consistency of flavanol. Here are some suggestions that might help you choose an organic, natural product that will be nutritious as well as delicious.

Healthy Snack Recipes

To get one thing out of the way, rest assured that it is very hard to find an actual organic product that will benefit you and keep you fit. If you are looking for all-natural sweets that you can always hand out to your little ones without worrying about consequences, you can find some here, at Organics on a budget. Rest assured that you will have difficulties in finding snacks similar to those, and even their shortlist of recipes and suggestions down below are all more delicious than healthy choices. But I’m doing my best, so don’t judge me!

Choco-Avocado

You will need the following:

  • 4 avocados, obviously,
  • 50 grams of dark, organic chocolate,
  • 3 tablespoons of honey,
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract,
  • ½ cup of coconut milk, light preferably,
  • And a pinch of salt.

You will also need a blender, and if you are having any problems finding light coconut milk or chocolate, try looking on that organic food store mentioned above. The preparation directions are quite easy. All you need to do is to get rid of the skin, and cut the avocado in smaller pieces. Combine it all in your blender and blend until it gets all creamy and delicious. It needs to stay cool, so keep it in the fridge for at least 10 hours before serving. Pour the substance into smaller cups, and when your kids ask you for a snack, surprise them with this healthy and delicious alternative. You could even let them help you make it which may even give them a sense of achievement and make a fun activity for them and you.

Choco-Truffles

We are still on chocolate, but let’s face it, kids simply love it and it probably is their favourite choice. Here is how you can make healthy chocolate truffles. Well, healthy as they possibly can be. First, let’s go through ingredients for about 15 servings:

  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter,
  • ½ cup of low fat Greek yoghurt,
  • 50 grams of organic, dark chocolate,
  • And ½ cup of cocoa powder.

Melt the chocolate, add peanut butter while the chocolate is still hot, and after that just pour in the Greek yoghurt and mix everything together. You should put this mixture in your refrigerator, keep it there for about 15-20 minutes until it starts to get thicker and harden, and after that you will have no trouble making small truffles out of that mass and finally dip them in cocoa powder. Keep them in the fridge until serving.

Experiment with Greek yoghurt, you can even freeze it on a stick. There are a lot of organic kids snacks that your children will love, and let’s be honest – you will have a nibble yourself of course. Remember that the trick is in the dosage. Don’t feed your children more chocolate than you should, you are aware of that, but still these are some of the best snacks that you can serve and feel relaxed about it, knowing that it is all natural and organic.

And, most important of all, enjoy!
